WHAT IS ADVOCACY?

Advocacy is persuading other people or groups to act differently, to change in some way their policy or approach to a particular humanitarian issue. An advocacy can't be complete without its advocates. An advocate is a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy; a person who please a case on someone else's behalf.

WHAT IS OUR ADVOCACY?

The advocacy of Shook, Rattle, and Roll is to make disaster risk reduction a priority nationally and internationally in order to save lives and livelihoods. It is widely recognized that effective advocacy is required to do this. Another aim of the website is to build a safer world. To do this many different activities are required, such as gaining enough knowledge, participating at drills, reducing underlying risk factors, hazard awareness and a persuading advocacy. Shook, Rattle, and Roll aims to reduce the damage caused by natural hazards like earthquakes through an ethic prevention. By providing you knowledge through our website, you will be getting an idea on how to survive this certain existential crisis yourself and even helping others along the way.

Our advocacy is effective just like any other disaster risk reduction activity. You may ask what is your role in our advocacy? We encourage you to let yourself be the change you wish to see in the world! Who we are now is not who we were last year, last week, yesterday or even a minute ago. Life never stands still, no matter what we do. Change is the very nature of existence—our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, ideas, even our relationships are as changeable as rain and sunshine, or night and day. But, as much as change is inevitable, it is not always welcome or easy to deal with. It can upset our world and generate many conflicting feelings. Therefore, we encourage you to be the savior this world needs! Let other people be knowledgeable as well on what to do in terms of occurrence of an earthquake. Always remember, by partaking in this page, you can escape an earthquake.

ADVOCACY

Knowing the disaster could lead to you having no disaster.

ADVOCACY

To let everyone be aware and be knowledgeable of what earthquakes are and to prevent apathy towards natural disasters like earthquakes as it can lead to perils and repercussions. To encourage everyone to know the basis and background of an earthquake along with its intensity scale for future references in times of crisis.

ADVOCACY

To spread awareness and tips about earthquakes. Be alert in times of crisis! To keep you "awake" from the happenings around you. Awake with knowledge and tips and the things you need to consider prior to before, during, and after an earthquake. Being awake is important to lessen the casualties after an earthquake.
